Qatar Foundation Triathlon Series
In conjunction with Qatar Foundation, TriClub Doha will host the third and final race in the fifth season on the Qatar Foundation TriSeries sponsored by GMC on May 4th 2018.
This triathlon takes place at the Qatar Foundation Education City Recreation Centre, using an 50m indoor pool for the swim, with the bike and run course on internal roads in Education City.
The QF Triathlon caters for all ages and levels of triathlete, from the complete beginner finding their legs to more experienced triathlons wanting to stretch themselves on the sprint course.
Note change: As it is getting hot in may, the race will at 6.30am promptly with the Adults Sprint distance race, followed by the super sprint distance (including Junior and Kids 2 & 3) at approximately 7.20am-7.30am, and finally the Kids 1 at approximately 7.45am. Registration and racking will remain open until 7.45am.
Kids and Junior Individual Distances
Mini-Kids (3-7) Free Duathlon or running event (100m run, 100m bike, 100m run)
Kids 1 (7-9) 100m swim, 3km bike, 1.25km run
Kids 2 (10-11) 200m swim, 5km bike, 1.25km run
Kids 3 (12-13) 200m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
Junior (14-15) 200m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
Adult Individual Distances
Beginners 200m swim, 5km bike, 1.25km run
Super Sprint 200m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
Sprint 500m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
Team Relay Distances (2 or 3 members per team)
Primary Kids 100m swim, 3km bike, 1.25km run
Secondary Kids 200m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
Team Relay 500m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
Enter the Junior Race, provide school name and collect points for your school. In race 3 this will include points scored by Team relays
All participants receive a sponsored bike bottle at registration and a finishers medal.
Juniors age categories are based on their age on September 1st 2017, in line with school years, so the members are in the same age group for the entire year and racing against their peers. Juniors wishing to do a different distance may email us to request a change (email@example.com)
The race is timed by the use of a mylaps prochip timing system. Non-members will be provided a chip for use at the race. A Qatar ID card must be left as safety deposit to ensure return.
Finishers will be provided with water on the run course and refreshments at the finish line.
Awards and Podium Presentation
At the end of the race each, first three places for each gender are awarded winners medals at the podium for the following categories:
Individual: Kids 1, Kids 2, Kids 3, Junior, Sprint – Open (16-39 years old), Sprint – Veteran (40+ years)
Team Relay: Sprint, Primary Relay, Primary Secondary
Additional, gold medals are awarded at the podium to first place "All female" Relay teams.
A trophy will be awarded to the first place Primary School and Secondary School Team, with the top 3 individual pupils performance being aggregated to provide a school score.
School Triathlon Championship: individual and relay participants can collect points for the their school (one for primary and one for secondary). Schools with the highest score from their Top 3 individual participanting points scorers & top team point scorer will receive a trophy and gold medals.
